“The hiking program was organized with the aim to promote Suryachaur as a new tourism destination”, TAAN President Nava Raj Dahal said. He expressed that Suryachaur can be one of the best destinations nearby Kathmandu Valley where international as well as domestic tourist can enjoy the beautiful nature. Requesting tourism entrepreneurs to include Surychaur in the tour package, he stated it will help to promote Nepal’s tourism.
TAAN General Secretary Ang Pemba Sherpa asserted that hiking to Suryachaur will be one of the perfect destination that will attract international and domestic tourists to relish coming across the noisy and polluted city.
The hike started from Kakani Memorial Park passing through Shivapuri National Park and ended at Suryachaur Hill passing through Shivapuri National Park. Suryachaur, situated at an altitude of 1925 meter in the Northern part of Kathmandu valley, is the short and easy hike of 10 kilometers (2-3) hours. Suryachaur is an ideal place with some flat terrains from where one can get to see the whole Thangshing Valley and the great mountain views like Ganesh Himal, Langtang Range, Mt. Gaurishankar, Godatape, Rauchuli and other numerous himalayan range.
Minister Adhikari, MoCTCA Secretary Krishna Prashad Devkota, TAAN Executive Members, C.E.O of NTB Deepak Raj Joshi, Representatives from different tourism organizations, Tourism Entrepreneurs, Medias with other 500 people participated in the hiking.
