TAAN Commences Mountain Security and First- Aid Training

Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) in collaboration of Ice Himalaya President Mr. Maurice Duchene and team has organized a three-day training workshop on Mountain Security and First Aid from today, December 3rd at Nepal Mountain Academy, Thapagaun, Bijulibazar. A total number of 62 trekking professionals from different member agencies has participated in the workshop.

The workshop is been supported by Embassy of France in Kathmandu – La France au Népal. The technical supporters are Alliance Française Kathmandu, Société Française de Médecine de Catastrophe (SFMC), A), Association Nationale des Instructeurs et Moniteurs de Secourisme (ANIMS) and Secours En Montagne France.

TAAN President Mr. Nava Raj Dahal inaugurated the program and extended warm welcome to all the trainers and trainees. He assured that the training will be an asset that will ensure safety and security in mountain areas by generating professional and qualified workforce especially in mountain tourism.

TAAN General Secretary, Ang Pemba Sherpa said “TAAN has been organizing these   kinds of   training in regular basis. The training will facilitate all the participants during   their trekking   period as well as in their daily life in upcoming days.”

Ms. Magalic JeanTeur, Specialist of Mountain Rescue and a trainer express that the training will be useful in their daily life and in emergency service especially for mountain related problems.
The training is being provided by a team of five French professional trainers lead by Yues Prunier along other trainers Magalic JeanTeur, Lucie Cordier, Claude Massuye and Laure De Saint Blanquat.

The training has successfully begun in the coordination of Human Recourse and Training Department Coordinator Mr. Ram Bahadur Khadka.

TAAN First Vice President Mr. Jeeban Thapa Magar, Coordinator of Human Resource and Training Department Mr. Ram Bahadur Khadka, TAAN Executive Members Mr. P.K Sherpa, Mr. Gopal Shrestha, Director General of Nepal Mountain Academy Mr. Romnath Gyawali and Administration Officer Mr. Uttam Bhattarai were also present in the program.
