A free medical camp was organized at Manav Sewa Ashram, Kaushaltar, Bhaktapur by Team NEPO, Pradhan Family Philanthropy and Ayurveda Campus & Teaching Hospital, Kirtipur in association with Nepal Ayurveda Students Society and Ayurveda Medical Development and Research Foundation on Sunday, Sept 19, 2021.

According to a press release, the camp, which was organized by Team NEPO in the valley for the third time, was inaugurated by Campus Chief Asso. Prof. Dr. Shiv Mangal Prasad and President Dr. Nigam Paudel. Chief guest, Dr. Prasad during the camp inauguration said, ‘It is very essential to organize such camps at old age homes to provide geriatric care specially in the time of COVID. It’s equally important to observe Covid SOP, and vaccinate citizens, to reduce the impact of Covid and prevent future spread. I truly appreciate the effort shown by my students in organizing such camps in the valley since last few months.

President Dr. Paudel stated ‘We’re blessed to be here today in service of senior citizens, abandoned and unsourced people who know nothing about themselves and their family. It will be an opportunity to not only assess and address their current health complaints but also to strengthen their immune system to overcome the pandemic.’ He thanked the ashram for providing this opportunity to organize the camp and appreciated the support of medical team, volunteers and partner organizations without whom it would not have been possible to organize frequent camps at old age homes.

People of ashram were screened for various ailments, and free medicines were prescribed by the physicians. Medical team of physicians, Dr. Rishi Keshav Bhusal, Dr. Hemanta Gautam, Dr. Pradip Adhikari, Dr. Sushant Bhandari, Dr. Dilip Adhikari, Dr. Rabindra Suwal, Dr. Neeru Bhattarai and Dr. Suryashwari Duwadi were present at the camp. Organizer handed over the prescribed medicines, hygiene and immune kits with soap, masks and immune tea to the hostess of ashram Jamuna Paudel. A total of 46 people benefited from the camp. Earlier, Team NEPO has organized free medical camps at Sankhadhar Jestha Nagarik Sewa Kendra, Kirtipur and Divya Sewa Niketan Old Age Home, Golfutar, Kathmandu.
