I am thinking life itself is a university where coming to the globe everyone starts learning many subjects that lead to getting success in every field wherever involved. Likewise, fortunately defining that’s happened due to the right justice of Shrikrishna Upadhyaya who has given me the chance to work with the Agricultural Development Bank.
Then I entered feeling this also one of the parts of my university. It’s because I was trying several times to join the civil service through Civil Service Commission. There I could not get success to work even in the position on what I was desiring even I used to pass in the written examination then they fail me in every interview. Reaching to the interview, I myself found failed in every attempt. I am thinking about how Shrikrishna Upadhyaya qualified me to work in Agricultural Development. Therefore, I am thinking now if Shrikrishna was not there in the leadership of the Agricultural Development Bank I won’t get the chance to work with this bank. So, I pay my heartfelt gratitude to Shrikrishna Upadhyaya the then Chairman Cum General Manager of the bank.
Just I was appointed to the Trishuli Branch of Agricultural Development Bank as the post of Account and Administration Officer I proudly started working on how we can manage the bank for the benefit of the people living in harsh poverty. While working in the branch Trishuli I used to be visiting the people of the remotes part thinking that how can I improve the living status of the people suffering from severe scarcity inherently. Visiting the places in high hill parts in Nuwakot I found mostly the Tamang communities that used to be living there with the acute scarcity of daily necessity products.
The children in such part I found mostly playing in the dust and mud licking sneeze from both the none trails suffering with the scarcity of food in time. While I used to find such family at home I used to go to the house where they find keeping local chickens just
hatched many baby chicks that I used to buy and give to the family to keep and grow matured chickens that may generate income so that they could at least feed nutrient food to their children.
If they keep more chickens their income grows, then with that they could manage to send their children to school. I used to visit the poor villagers’ homes and used to be eating Dhido with them. By working with them I was quite different than that from the other officials working in the district. With the initiative to form many of the village production units in Nuwakot, I was rightly popular in that district.
After three years past in Nuwakot there I used to be started fisheries in the paddy field of Trishuli bank. Then the farmers became encouraged and they started earning from their additional activities. So, is the objective of the bank for what it was established with noble spirits. Bank had a Small Farmers Development program on which I was assigned the district inspector of the program was a very excellent function. In only Nuwakot there were 13 Small Farmer’s Development projects that were started with the influence of the leader where there from at least five influential leaders.
After the Nuwakot branch, I was transferred to the planning and project Division in the central office of the Agriculture Development Bank. Working with the division I gain different experiences going far west east and another side to conduct the program and budgeting from the regional level. Working all the activities additional parts of activities in the employee organization had to be held under my shoulder. I lead the employment association from then time till to leave my job at the bank.
I have many to say about the bank and my career but in the small writeup that could not be possible to write more. Anyway, I would like to express my humble gratitude to Shrikrishna Upadhya who open the door for my entry to the bank job. And all the lovely staff of the Bank who honor me in my entire job holding period there I worked in different capacities I should pay my regards and thanks to all.
